It is a harsh and tragic fact that each year approximately 1,900 families in Ireland will lose a son or daughter.

It can be hard to imagine the pain and despair that comes with such a loss. By bringing together bereaved families to support and comfort each other Anam Cara plays a valuable role in helping these families “journey” on after the death of their child.

Anam Cara’s services, which include this website with message forum, parent-to-parent meetings, family events and professional talks, are all provided to bereaved parents and families free of charge.

With your support of our National Awareness Campaign during October 2010 and "The Balloon to Remember" event on 2nd November 2010, we can contimue to grow these services to reach more parents across the country.
